Memorabilia: Error Cards

Here are some interesting baseball card errors that have been discussed recently on the SABR list.

Ken Hubbs died two years before he appeared as Dick Ellsworth in the 1966 Topps set. The real Dick Ellsworth is on the right (1961 Topps).

Career minor leaguer Tommy Dotterer stood in for his brother Dutch in the 1961 Topps set. The real Dutch Dotterer is on the right (1958 Topps).

Willie McCovery as a member of the Washington Nationals (1974 Topps).

Billy Ripken's infamous 1989 Fleer - before correction.

The Angels batboy posing as Aurelio Rodriguez (1969 Topps).

Lew (not Lou) Burdette purposely posing as a lefty (1959 Topps).

Hank Aaaron (1957 Topps) with the image accidentally reversed. Note the backwards "M"

Lee Thomas batting without a bat in the 1964 Topps Standup set.

Claude Raymond with his barn door open (1966 Topps).

Not a flattering description of hurler Ray Sadecki (1964 Topps).
